capsule counting and filling machine
FI Machinery supplies counters that dispense a set number of finished capsules, tablets, or pills into each container. Compare six semi-automatic and automatic models, then share your product, bottle, and output target for a suitable configuration.

Count finished capsules into the right container
A capsule counting and filling machine feeds finished capsules past a counting sensor and releases the selected quantity into a bottle or other container. It handles the packaging step after capsules have been filled and closed. If your process starts with empty shells and powder or pellets, see our capsule filling machines for that earlier step.
The six models below cover operator-assisted counting and automatic bottle-line counting. FI-3SS also lists bottle, box, and bag applications; the other listed specifications focus on bottles. Container fit depends on the actual opening, height, and handling method, so select the machine around your pack as well as your capsule.
Compare modelsChoose the operating method before comparing speed
Semi-automatic models suit a process where an operator presents or replaces containers at the counting station. FI-1SS, FI-2SS, and FI-3SS offer different published ranges and product sizes. FI-1SS is listed for 100–600 pieces/min; FI-2SS for 1,000–2,000 pieces/min; and FI-3SS for 10–30 bottles/min. Because those figures use different units, bottle fill quantity must be known before comparing them.
For an automatic bottle line, FI-16SC, FI-16CC, and FI-16SCC each list a maximum counting rate of 12,000 pieces/min. FI-16SC describes optical detection, and FI-16CC specifies a line-scan CCD camera. The FI-16SCC page does not publish a separate camera specification or a measured counting advantage.

FI-3SS semi-automatic counting machine.
FI-3SS Semi-automatic Counting Machine
FI-3SS counts tablets, capsules, or pills into bottles; its product description also lists box and bag applications. Its published bottle rate gives a direct starting point for an operator-assisted packaging station.
Core specifications
- Published output10–30 bottles/min, depending on bottle and fill quantity
- Fill count1–9,999 pieces/bottle
- Capsule sizes0–5
- Bottle capacity15–300 mL bottles

FI-2SS semi-automatic counting machine.
FI-2SS Semi-automatic Counting Machine
FI-2SS is a semi-automatic counter listed for hard capsules, softgels, and tablets. Its piece-rate specification is useful when the planned count per bottle is already known.
Core specifications
- Published output1,000–2,000 pieces/min
- Product rangecapsule sizes 00–5, softgels, and 5.5–18 mm tablets
- Set count2–9,999 pieces
- Bottle height40–240 mm

FI-1SS semi-automatic counting machine.
FI-1SS Semi-automatic Counting Machine
FI-1SS provides a compact semi-automatic option for counting finished hard capsules into bottles. Its published rate starts at 100 pieces/min, making it a model to review for lower-volume work.
Core specifications
- Published output100–600 pieces/min
- Capsule sizes00–5
- Set count1–9,999 pieces
- Bottle height40–240 mm

FI-16SC automatic counting machine with bottle conveyor.
FI-16SC Servo Counting Machine
FI-16SC is an automatic counter for bottle lines. Its product description lists multistage vibration feeding, optical detection, a PLC and touch screen, and quick-release counting components for cleaning.
Core specifications
- Maximum counting rateup to 12,000 pieces/min, depending on bottle, material, and fill count
- Fill count1–9,999 pieces/bottle
- Capsule sizes0–5
- Bottle capacity15–300 mL bottles

FI-16CC camera counting machine for bottles.
FI-16CC Camera Counting Machine
FI-16CC uses a line-scan CCD camera and processor to recognize passing pieces. Its product description states that the machine automatically rejects foreign fragments.
Core specifications
- Maximum counting rateup to 12,000 pieces/min, depending on bottle and fill count
- Fill count1–9,999 pieces/bottle
- Capsule sizes0–5
- Bottle capacity15–300 mL bottles

FI-16SCC servo camera counting machine.
FI-16SCC Servo Camera Counting Machine
FI-16SCC is listed as a servo camera counter for capsules, tablets, and pills. Its published speed and capsule range match the other two automatic models on this page. To determine whether it fits your line better, test the same product, bottle, and fill count at your target rate, then compare count errors, handling of broken pieces, and time needed to clear and clean the feed path.
Core specifications
- Maximum counting rateup to 12,000 pieces/min, depending on bottle, material, and fill count
- Fill count1–9,999 pieces/bottle
- Capsule sizes0–5

Size the counter for pieces and bottles
Multiply target bottles per minute by pieces per bottle to find the counting rate the line requires. A line targeting 60 bottles/min with 100 capsules in each bottle needs 6,000 capsules/min at the counter. A 120-bottle/min target at the same fill count needs 12,000 capsules/min before allowing for bottle transfer, interruptions, or upstream and downstream equipment.
The automatic models publish maximum piece rates, while FI-3SS publishes bottles/min and the FI-1SS/FI-2SS pages publish pieces/min. Actual bottle output changes with fill count, capsule flow, container handling, and stops. Use your target net output and representative product to judge capacity; the maximum piece rate alone does not establish a sustained bottle rate.
Check the product path from hopper to bottle
The counter must feed pieces separately enough for the detection system to register them, then direct the counted quantity into the positioned container. Capsule size, shape, dust, static, broken pieces, and feeding behavior can change how smoothly that path runs. FI-16CC describes camera-based recognition and fragment rejection; the FI-16SC page describes staged vibration feeding and optical detection.
Provide representative filled capsules or tablets and the production bottle when reviewing a model. A run with the intended count can show whether pieces feed cleanly, whether the bottle opening accepts the discharge, and how the machine behaves during bottle changes or stops. For products that create dust or residue, review access to the contact path and the cleaning procedure during the same evaluation.
Define the configuration for your packaging line
Tell FI Machinery the dosage form and size, pieces per container, bottle dimensions and opening, target bottles per minute, operating hours, and available power and air. If the counter will join an existing line, identify the bottle feed, capper, inspection equipment, and control interfaces. These details determine the suitable machine, required change parts, and where the counter must coordinate with other equipment.
Request a quotation against the same product, container, speed, and acceptance conditions you will use for evaluation. Specify the equipment and documentation you need in the quotation so that configuration and commercial scope are clear.
